Welcome to this comprehensive guide on how to set up a sales pipeline in your Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. This tool is essential for visualizing your sales process and keeping track of potential clients as they progress through various stages. 

By properly setting up and managing your sales pipeline, you’ll be better equipped to prioritize resources, strategize effectively and ultimately enhance your sales performance.

  1. CREATE A NEW PIPELINE
    • Navigate to the “SETTINGS” button at the bottom left corner of the screen and click “SETTINGS“.
    • Find and click “PIPELINES” under Settings.
    • Click the green “+CREATE NEW PIPELINE” button in the upper right corner.
  2. DEFINE PIPELINE STAGES
    • Name your new pipeline (e.g., “Sales Pipeline”).
    • Define stages to track your sales process. These stages may include “Lead”, “Appointment”, “Working”, “Contract”, “Sold”, and “Unsold”.
    • Click “+ADD STAGE” after entering each stage name.
    • Decide whether to include this pipeline in the “FUNNEL CHART” or the “PIE CHART” on your dashboard.
    • Click “SAVE” to finalize your new pipeline.
  3. ADD A CONTACT TO THE PIPELINE
    • Navigate to your CRM and click “CONTACTS“.
    • Select a contact to add to your pipeline (e.g., “Michael”).
    • Scroll down under the contact record and click “OPPORTUNITIES“.
    • Click “+ADD” to add the contact to the pipeline.
    • Use the “SELECT STAGE” dropdown to assign a stage to the contact.
    • Assign a potential value to the lead.
    • Optionally, assign the lead to someone and track the source of the lead (e.g., a referral, a Facebook ad, a sales rep, etc.).
  4. UPDATE STAGES FOR THE CONTACT
    • Go back to the “OPPORTUNITIES” page to view your pipeline.
    • Drag and drop the contact to a different stage as they progress through the sales process (e.g., from “Lead” to “Appointment”).
  5. TRACK SALES PERFORMANCE
    • Once a sale is made, drag the contact to the “WON” box to track your successful sales.
