Welcome to this step-by-step tutorial on “Creating Smart Lists”. As we all know, organization is key to managing your customer relationship effectively, and a smart list is a powerful tool that can help you accomplish this. 

This guide will walk you through creating smart lists, which can automatically categorize and store contacts based on predefined criteria. Once these lists are in place, they can be utilized to send targeted messages, enabling a more personalized approach to customer interaction.

Creating Smart Lists
  1. On the left side of your screen is the navigation menu. Locate and click Contact. This will send you to the Contact or CRM Section.
  2. Click on the More Filters button, located on the upper right of your screen. This will allow you to segment your contact list.
  3. Decide on the criteria for your Smart List. (e.g., if you want to create a list of all “past customers”, you would use the TAGS associated with past customers)
  4. Click on the Search And Add Filter box, which will drop down to a list. Search and find the tag you want. Once found, click the plus button at the top of the box, type the name of the chosen tag, and click “Save”.
  5. Your new Smart List  will now appear as a tab in your Contacts section. Anytime a contact is added and tagged with the same info, they will automatically be added to this list.
Targeted Messaging

Now that you have your Smart Lists, you can use them for targeted messaging. For example, if you want to send a discount offer to a specific list to encourage them to purchase, you can:

  1. Select your chosen list from the Smart List panel.
  2. Click the top most Checkbox to select all contacts or you can Include And Exclude some contacts by checking and unchecking their respective boxes in the list.
  3. Click on the Send Text Or Send Email Icon to compose and send your message.

Smart Lists are an effective tool to segment your audience and store them for quick reference when you need them. This will save you from having to search and filter each time you want to reach a particular group. By building a variety of Smart Lists, you can quickly and easily segment your contacts for targeted messaging.
